Alhidaaya Translation of the meanings of the Quran has been prepared for the objective of facilitating the Swahili speaking community to understand an authentic Kiswahili Quran translation. This translation is in accordance to the manhaj of our Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and Salaf Saalih.
Here are various reasons for which this translation is unique:
1. We have affirmed the Attributes of Allaah (سبحانه وتعالى) in a manner that befits His Majesty just like how He Allaah (سبحانه وتعالى) Affirmed Himself and what has been affirmed by His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), such as the attribute of ‘Al-Uluww’ (Allaah being up), Al-Istiwaa, the Hearing, the Seeing, the Speech, Him having Wajih and Hands and other Attributes which have been affirmed without Ta-‘ateel (negation of the meaning or function), or Tamtheel (likening them to those of Allaah’s Creation), or Takyeef (descriptive designation), or Tahreef (distortion of their meaning), as known and agreed by Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’aah.
2. We have affirmed all matters of the unseen (ghayb) for example, Believers seeing Allaah in Paradise, the punishment of the grave, As-Siraat (The Path), Al-Mizaan (The Scale) and other matters which are mentioned in the Noble Quran.
3. We have chosen with great care, vocabularies which correspond to what is meant in the Aayah.
4. We defined some matters which needed clarification concerning ‘Aqeedah, and we have also mentioned various commentaries of benefit, some of which we have quoted from Mufassirun (Scholars of Tafsir), and 'Ulama (Scholars) of different eras.
Any task done by a human will no doubt have errors, but by the Tawfeeq of Allaah, we have tried our best to avoid this. We ask Allaah (سبحانه وتعالى) by His Favours, His Generosity, His Magnanimity and His Ihsaan that He accept this task, for verily He is The Most Magnanimous and The Most Generous.
